On Sunday 20 October 2024, the ASD Ciclo Club Spongano will bring to life the 7th edition of the CASTRO LEGEND CUP, a race included in the UCI-International Cycling Union calendar which will see the participation of the best bikers in the world ranking. This edition will host the Italian Paralympic MTB Cycling Championship and finally it will also be the prestigious “FINALISSIMA “X LEGEND“. Among the many new features that we will reserve for you, a unique route, the opening to hikers and a series of rich and exciting awards stand out.
The event is an opportunity for organizers and circuits from all over Italy and sporting events that take place abroad to meet and discuss an inclusive and engaging event. Everyone can participate! that is, all Italian and foreign citizens, of both sexes, aged 18 and over, competitive and amateur categories registered with the FCI or a foreign Federation adhering to the U.C.I. or a Sports Promotion Body recognized by the National Cycling Council. Athletes not affiliated with any ASD can participate in the event or on the hiking route or by requesting via email at asdcicloclubspongano@gmail.com issuing a FCI daily card and sending your competitive sports medical certificate.
THE TESTS:

1) UCI ​​– XCM (MARATHON) TRACK
– INTERNATIONAL RACE ID 169762: All Elite and U23 (M/F) competitive athletes have access to the UCI race.
– NATIONAL RACE ID 173851: All FCI + Entities master athletes (ELMT-M8) have access to the race.
The UCI race track is of the XCM type for a total of 80 km.

2) FCI TRACK – XCP (GRANFONDO) NATIONAL RACE ID 171473
THE CHALLENGE for the X LEGEND jersey will take place on this track!
– All competitive JUNIOR athletes (M/F) and all master athletes (M/F) FCI + Bodies (ELMT-M8) in good standing with their membership have access to the race.
The race track is a total of 58 km.

3) FCI TRACK – HIKING RACE ID: 173853
JMT master athletes (who will not be able to access the National XCM and XCP routes) or all master athletes, both registered and non-registered, but with a non-competitive medical certificate, have access to the event. The event is not competitive and compliance with the highway code is in force for all participating athletes. All enthusiasts with e-bikes and gravel bikes can participate.
The race track is developed for a total of 35 km.

4) ITALIAN PARALYMPIC MTB CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP CAT. B E C. NATIONAL RACE ID 171833
All athletes belonging to the FCI Paralympic categories B and C and with a functional classification valid for the year 2024 have access to the event.
Single race route of 35 km for categories B and C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5.
The various race regulations will be published on the event website.

SINGLE ATHLETE PARTICIPATION COSTS
Each athlete will be able to participate in the event at the cost of:
– 45 euros until May 31, 2024 (price blocked for finalists)
– 55 euros until July 31, 2024
– 65 euros until September 30, 2024
– 70 euros in October and until the closing of registrations set at 7:00 pm on October 17, 2024.
Each athlete will receive a rich race pack that will include the GOBIK event T-shirt, various gadgets, voucher for the pasta party (pasta with fish and fried calamari), free parking tag and finisher medal. The collection of the race pack will take place together with the collection of the race bib with the obligation to purchase the chip.
There will be no refund of the fee or participation in next year’s event for those who decide not to participate for unforeseen reasons, but they will still be able to collect the free materials in the race pack.
For large teams, a discount is provided based on the number of registered participants. For every 9 registered athletes, one registration is free, regardless of the registration period. Athletes who benefit from registration in combination with other events will not benefit from the discount.

X LEGEND 2024
WHAT WILL THE CHALLENGE BE?
The X LEGEND competition is a CHALLENGE BETWEEN ALL THE TROPHIES (even outside national borders) with master and competitive rankings on both the Marathon and Granfondo routes. The challenge is aimed at all athletes who have taken part during the sporting year and have classified in a useful position (top 5 in category) and who will have to represent and defend the colors of their trophy. The Trophies that have two final rankings (e.g. on Marathon and Granfondo routes) will be able to allow all their athletes to access the final without distinction.

MEMBERSHIP BY CIRCUITS AND/OR TROPHIES.
All regional or extra-regional circuits and/or trophies (with events in more than one region) must communicate their membership by completing the form attached below and sending it to the email address asdcicloclubspongano@gmail.com by February 28, 2024. Membership of the circuit guarantees its finalists (the first 5 classified in the master categories), registration for the final at the discounted cost of 45 euros, and also opportunities for visibility and publication of the logo, name of the trophy, stages and characteristics. Media content and services created specifically for the dissemination of the initiative.

Membership of the trophy is free, the only obligations of the participating organization are:
– communication of the dates of its calendar and subsequent changes in date that some events may undergo;
– advertising on their website/social channel the information on the X LEGEND final to which their finalist athletes (first 5 of all master categories) will have free access;
– sharing the same spirit of collaboration;
– sending all periodic updates of their category ranking;
– authorization to use the trophy logo, after sending it in vector format, for official communications and advertising of our organization;
– sharing on social media of advertising and promo content related to the X LEGEND event.

ADHERENCE BY EVENTS AND/OR CIRCUITS/TROPHIES THAT TAKE PLACE ABROAD.
A trophy or event that takes place abroad means events or competitions that take place outside national borders under the aegis of foreign federations adhering to the UCI. All events that take place abroad or circuits and/or trophies that take place abroad (under the aegis of the respective National or International Federations) can communicate their membership by completing the form attached below and sending it to the email address asdcicloclubspongano@gmail.com by February 28, 2024.
The membership of the circuit or single event that takes place abroad will guarantee its finalists (the first 5 classified in the master categories), registration for the final at a cost of 40 euros, and also opportunities for visibility and publication of the logo, name of the event or trophy, stages and characteristics. Media content and services created specifically for the dissemination of the initiative.
The membership of the single foreign event or foreign trophy is FREE, the only obligations of the participating organization are:
– communication of the date;
– communication of the dates of its calendar and subsequent changes in date that some events may undergo;
– advertising on their website/social channel the information on the X LEGEND final to which their finalist athletes (first 5 of all master categories) will have free access;
– sharing the same spirit of collaboration;
– sending all periodic updates of their category ranking;
– authorization to use the trophy logo, after sending it in vector format, for official communications and advertising of our organization;
– sharing on social media advertising and promo content related to the X LEGEND event.

ACCESS TO THE X LEGEND FOR THE FIRST 5 IN THE TROPHY CATEGORY.

Athletes positioned in the first 5 places in their category of a circuit adhering to the X LEGEND will have access at a fixed cost of 40 euros. These athletes are required to indicate the circuit they belong to and their position in the ranking at the time of registration.

PARTICIPATION COSTS FOR SINGLE ATHLETE FINALISTS OF A CIRCUIT
NOT MEMBER OF THE INITIATIVE.
Even the finalist athletes of circuits who have not joined our initiative will be able to compete in the X LEGEND final to win the jersey. The registration of these athletes will be with the payment of the entire fee. The registration cost will be based on the period of performance.

FORMATION OF THE STARTING GRIDS.
Each trophy will have the possibility of lining up the first 5 athletes of all categories on the grid. The leader’s jersey may be worn by the first in each category, while the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the category positioned in the merit grid must wear a distinctive sign (e.g. armband with color/logo matching their trophy and reporting the category).

ATHLETES PLACED IN THE FIRST 5 OF THEIR CATEGORY IN MULTIPLE CIRCUITS.
Athletes positioned in the first 5 of their category in more than one circuit or trophy must represent only one trophy of their choice. The place they leave vacant in the unchosen trophy will be filled by the athlete positioned immediately after. The same also applies to the place left vacant by the finalists who do not intend to participate in the final. (in this regard, it will be possible to climb up to a maximum of 7th place for each category. The registration of these athletes to access the final, is however subject to payment and based on the period of performance).

TROPHY PRESENTATION.
The presentation of the trophy will take place the day before the competition, through the organization of an evocative opening ceremony. During this event, there will be the individual presentation of each participating trophy, offering a special opportunity to highlight their identity, characteristics and history. The finalists will be presented, providing them with a dedicated space to share their experiences and successes. This moment will be a unique opportunity to highlight the protagonists of the competition and to allow them to express their commitment and passion.
The presentation of the trophies, together with the participation of the finalists, will help create an atmosphere of excitement and celebration around the event. This special moment will not only honor the participating trophies but will add an emotional touch to the Castro Legend Cup, making it a memorable experience for all participants and spectators.
